What is Action Figures? It’s a place to meet the athletes, artists and musicians who help define southern California, 21st century style. These are the guys and gals who push the envelope, and who also remember where they came from. They inspire others with their courage and they take care of others with their kindness … and in competition, they’re flat out the best. We surf with the world’s best (Colin McPhilips, Summer Romero, Pat O’Connell), skate with the movie stars (Griff Collins), play volleyball with the Gold Medalists and champs (Misty May, Jeff Lambert) and ride with the gnarliest neighbors you could ever meet (Pua Sawicki and Brian Lopes). We do it in a cool ocean front setting at locations like the Huntington Beach Pier (Surf City USA!), Toes on the Nose overlooking Main Beach in Laguna, and at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point Harbor (site of the original Killer Dana).Host Brent Weber is a former network correspondent who just can’t leave the beach and go back to work … and Rana Townend grew up with a world champ surfer for a dad and a brother for a skate God. No wonder she’s just the neatest California chick you could know.
