It's been nearly one year since we launched this web-site to help
publicize our book THE SPORTS GUY
and anything of value that I may be working on. As it turns out,
things have grown so quickly that I've had little time to learn
about how to keep this old web-site updated.
What
is it about our lives that make us turn and run away when we are
so close to making things happen that are important to us, and thus
important to our place in the universe? Case in point: in the past
several years I have been "working" on a TV show idea.
Along the way I have repeatedly procrastinated, jumped ship, taken
two steps back when I should take on forward and despite
my own excuses and mis-steps, ACTION
FIGURES became a reality August 26th, 2003.
The
problems are nerve-racking and exhilarating. Booking guests who
fit the "mold", finding musicians who will work for free,
athletes who are in the country and money enough to pay the measliest
of salaries. Everyone who has worked on ACTION
FIGURES to this point is worth much more than I've been
able t pay them. But that's why I believe this is something I am
destined to do. I can't believe all the people who have stepped
to the plate and helped make this happen. I am grateful - as always
- and blessed. They are my superheroes.
Keep
your eye out for this space and let us know what you think
of our show when it comes to your TV set in 2004.

Yes, somewhere
back in the day, which preceded DVD's and personal computers but not
Tab and cable television, I was given the nickname The Web.
Politicians and public domain stole the name and applied it to what
we commonly refer to as the world-wide web, shortened to The Web.
Unfortunately, I am told there are no royalties in this theory, only
a life lesson in ownership. I see it as this, we are who we are, simply,
and what that is worth is internal, not material.
The difficult part is finding out just what that means for each of
us, and in many cases, the pursuit begins from the doctor's slap on
the ass to the dark door before the light. I don't know if the former
actually happened and I can't say for certain whether the latter actually
will, so bear with me on the point which is: I am a man who has pursued
many things and yet believe I have only just begun.
Success? A little. Rewards? Gems not often recognized until it's too
late.
So as we unfold on a regular basis with this web-site and try to increasingly
be aware of where we're going, pick up a grain of sand and observe,
and you will find, millions of years of knowledge and life in each
tiny spec of color.
